PSA takes Special Constables Role Description Dispute to the Industrial Relations Commission

Special Constables dispute update - July 2019 (PDF version)

PSA representatives appeared on behalf of members in a dispute hearing before the Industrial Relations Commission (IRC) on Tuesday, 23 July 2019.

The dispute relates to the continued failure of NSW Police to produce a Role Description which properly describes your job with appropriate Capability Levels, as well as an inability to provide a final determination by 8 July 2019.

At the hearing, your union explained to the Industrial Commissioner why a correct Role Description is vital to ensuring your jobs are properly valued and managed. We provided the Commissioner with copies of all our submissions.

NSW Police undertook to provide a final response within two weeks and the matter has been listed for report back on 6 August 2019.

Now that the matter is before the IRC, members can be sure timeframes for response will be strictly adhered to.

As always, members will receive updates via bulletin as the matter continues.
