PSA WIN! SCGT members to record their normal hours

SCGT Letter - July 2020 (PDF version)

On Monday 20 July 2020, the Public Service Association of NSW (PSA) and the Sydney Cricket Ground Trust (SCGT) went before the Industrial Relations Commission (IRC) over issues related to payment for staff during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The PSA argued it felt staff were being pressured to take leave or leave without pay during this period. The SCGT stated this was not the case and staff should feel free to work and record their normal hours.

It was agreed the SCGT would put out an email to staff explaining they should feel free to work and record their normal hours.

SCGT advised no employee would suffer negative consequences for working their recorded full hours. The IRC protects employees from such consequences.

Employees are entitled to be paid in line with their contract of employment.

Collective action by members is what unions are all about. Acting collectively in this matter provides safeguards and security. And strength. We urge you to enter the hours you work and maintain your rights.
