Rapid Antigen Testing for Compliance Operation Inspectors: consultation has commenced

For months the PSA has been advocating for Compliance Operation Inspectors (COIs) to have Rapid Antigen Testing provided by Transport for NSW (TfNSW).

Finally TfNSW has agreed this extra safety measure should be trialled for COIs. Consultation commenced this week on the introduction.

TfNSW is proposing not to make the testing mandatory but you will be able to opt in. Once you opt in, TfNSW will initially supply test kits to enable testing twice a week. The idea will be to test at the beginning of a week and in the middle of the week (or when symptomatic). At this stage, testing is to be undertaken on your own time.

TfNSW is proposing this as temporary (at this stage) for a period of approximately four-to-six weeks. It will then reassess.

Consultation closes on Friday 11 March 2022.

We would encourage members to participate in the testing.  The more COIs who participate, the safer it makes the workplace.

If you have any concerns or feedback please get in touch with the PSA prior to consultation closing.  You can contact your Industrial Officer or Organiser:
