Report on Illegal Hunting from the Game Council of NSW

Summary of the PSA application for access to government information on employee numbers to the Public Service Commission:

  • How many successful prosecutions of illegal hunting activity has there been since the Game Council came into existence. Provide a log of the type of infringements, the corresponding penalties notices, location i.e. National Park or State Forest, Crown Land, or Private Property, and date of incident.
  • How many infringements or penalty notices for offences has the Game Council issued per annum since it came into existence. Provide a log detailing the infringement type, the penalty imposed for each offence, location i.e. National Park or State Forest, Crown Land, or Private Property, and date of incident.
  • How many investigation by the Game Council or appointed inspector for the Game Council conducted into illegal hunting activity in National Parks and how many have resulted in penalties imposed or prosecution by the courts. Provide a log of the investigations, the outcome including any by the courts or Game Council, the location of the investigation and time period of the investigation.
  • Per annum, how many allegations of breeches of Game Council Code of Practice have been reported to Game Council. How allegations of breeches of the Code of Conduct have been proven. Of the ones that have been proven, the details of activity and the penalties imposed by council, and what type of entity lodged the complaint i.e. public, government agency.
  •  How many prosecutions for illegal hunting are currently pending.
  • Per annum, how many suspensions and/or cancellations of Restricted (R) licences has the Game Council implemented as provided under the Game and Feral Animal Control Act 2002 section 29 since the inception of Game Council. Provide a log of suspensions and cancellations of Restricted (R) licences including the date, location, details of offence and the penalties imposed by council.
  • Per annum, how many suspensions and/or cancellations of Restricted (R) licence has the Game Council implemented as provided under the Game and Feral Animal Control Act 2002 section 30 since the inception of Game Council. Provide a log of suspension and cancellation of licences by courts in connection with offence including date, location, details of offence and the penalties imposed by council.
