As you may know, the vote to settle our backpay issue with the Rural Fire Service (RFS) closed last Friday, 28 March 2025.

The vote was overwhelmingly in favor of accepting the settlement, with 100 per cent support for ensuring that staff who are inconvenienced by working after hours will be fairly compensated moving forward. Eligible staff will receive a portion of the $5 million fund.

The PSA will notify the RFS of our decision.

Once the matter has been finalised, as mentioned in our earlier bulletins, we will return to the bargaining table with the RFS to negotiate changes to the Award to continue improving your conditions.
