The PSA provides the following update regarding the dispute over inspector travel allowance provisions. The parties have reached an agreement which will include payment for inspectors for eligible travel from 1 January 2023 to 30 June 2026. SafeWork NSW has drafted a new travel circular (policy), which will apply to all staff once the circular has gone live.
There are two parts to the agreement:
- Payment of past expenses for eligible travel, SafeWork has issued an update to staff SEE HERE as to the terms of settlement and a table of backpay for affected staff, including timeline for payment.
- A new Travel Provisions draft Circular (policy), SEE HERE which Safe work NSW is seeking staff feedback. The PSA is co-ordinating member feedback on this draft policy and seeks your advice by close of business 18 September 2026. Please contact and quote Case IDC10008420. The parties will meet again following the close of feedback to confirm the final travel provisions circular and advise of the go-live date. The final agreed policy will confirm all SafeWork Travel provisions entitlements. Further Bulletin will be issued as to final outcome.
Despite recent communications from SafeWork NSW, the PSA acknowledges the advice issued to members on 23 June 2026, as reported in this PSA bulletin which can be seen HERE
