Sign now: CSNSW transition update

  2 September 2026

The Public Service Association (PSA) is aware that Parklea staff transitioning to Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) have not signed the resignation in the letter of offer provided by  Management and Training Corporation (MTC) due to a rumour that they may be entitled to redundancy payments.

The PSA has reviewed your Enterprise Bargaining Agreement and advise that there is no entitlement to redundancy under the transition process to CSNSW.

The MTC documentation provides employees with two options:

  • Accept ongoing employment with MTC
  • Resign from MTC where employment has been accepted with CSNSW or another employer.

Accordingly, the PSA’s advice is that members should:

  • Accept the CSNSW offer and submit your resignation to MTC if you intend to transfer to CSNSW
  • Accept the offer of ongoing employment with MTC if you wish to remain with MTC
  • Resign from MTC to pursue alternative employment.

We advise members to complete this paperwork and submit it by close of business 3 September 2026, which is currently the final date to submit the paperwork. We are in discussions with MTC to extend this date out, but have not received confirmation at this point.

The PSA acknowledges that members continue to have concerns regarding the broader transition process and understand there are differing views about how the transfer from MTC to CSNSW should be characterised. Those concerns remain valid and the PSA will continue to advocate on behalf of members where appropriate. However, our immediate priority is ensuring members protect their employment interests and are not disadvantaged by misunderstandings regarding redundancy entitlements or their obligations under the transition process.
