TestSafe Health and Safety Representative update

As members would be aware from the update provided on Microsoft Teams last week, the PSA, along with your local delegate, have continued discussions with the department around the composition of work groups for the purposes of electing Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs). It is the intention of the PSA to best represent the interests of its members onsite. We understand that on this issue we will not have a unanimous decision but we have decided to send out a survey link to further gauge the views of members. You can complete this survey HERE.

The survey will only take a minute to complete.

The legislation, as it is written, provides workers the opportunity to take part in negotiations around the composition of work groups and the number of HSRs to be elected. If there is a failure in negotiations to establish or vary an agreement for work groups then we can and indeed will ask the regulator to appoint an inspector to act as an independent umpire. In this scenario, once the inspector makes a decision, that is to be taken as an agreed determination.
