The PSA and Osara Health: there for you in tough times
For more than 20 years, I have been proud to be a member of a union that has never been afraid to fight on behalf of its members working in our state’s world-class public school system. The PSA has always fought for better wages and conditions for our members, the backbone of the education system. Most recently, it has fought for permanency for 10,000 workers in NSW schools.
Now, thanks to its relationship with Osara Health, your union is right by your side in what could be the biggest fight of your life.
I’m the PSA’s Senior Vice-President and Chair of our union’s Schools Departmental Committee. I’m also a cancer survivor and know how important it is to have someone on your side during the emotional roller coaster that follows this dreadful diagnosis.
Osara Health is here to help our members. It is a provider that provides help for cancer patients and their families. Its support is available, free of charge, to PSA members in schools and other workplaces that keep NSW running.
Osara Health can support members in two ways. Cancer Coach is an education, support and behaviour change program designed by oncologists to help people take back control of their cancer care and achieve better outcomes, while Cancer Caregivers helps those looking after a loved one living with cancer. You can find more information on the two programs HERE.
Both Cancer Coach and Cancer Caregivers are delivered confidentially for between six and 12 weeks through a flexible mix of telephone calls, emails and an app. When you enrol, you will be contacted by a Health Coach who will walk you through everything.

You do so much for schools in NSW. The PSA is here to make sure you receive the support you deserve.
Yours in union,
