Trial of 11-12 manager role at Geoffrey Pearce Correctional Centre

Members have raised with the PSA that Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) has initiated a trial of the proposed 11-12 service integration role at Geoffrey Pearce Correctional Centre.

The PSA raised the matter with CSNSW and expressed members are very disappointed CSNSW appears to have not acted in good faith and have begun implementing the new structure without consultation. We sought an urgent meeting to discuss the issue.

Following initial contact from your union, CSNSW and the PSA met on 27 March 2023. During this meeting, the director responsible for the area advised that there was no trial. Rather the individual assigned to the 11/12 role was filling an existing establishment role and any duties undertaken as a manager were within an existing role description. The PSA advised that contrary to this, many members did not believe this explanation and local management had conveyed it was indeed a trial. The PSA encourages members to provide any further information relating to the CSNSW 2030 reforms.

CSNSW has indicated it will be in a position to provide and consult around a change management plan following Easter.
