Under threat: The NSW workers’ compensation system that protects you
The PSA CPSU NSW has a proud history of campaigning for better workers’ compensation laws to protect members like you.
Workers’ compensation is vital. It helps you if you are injured at work, including psychological injuries. If you are injured in a way that stops you from working, workers’ compensation means you receive income support and medical treatments to help you get better and back to work.
However, your union is concerned about new proposals from the NSW Government to change the way workers can access workers’ compensation in the event of psychological injury.
We want to hear from you
Unions NSW has devised a confidential survey about mental health and psychosocial hazards in your workplace and how these proposals may affect you.
We urge all members to fill out the survey so the union movement in NSW can better protect workers.
You can take the survey HERE.

NSW Government MPs and MLCs signed a pledge promising to reform the workers’ compensation system when they got into government.
But Treasurer Daniel Mookhey’s changes won’t prevent injuries and won’t support under-pressure workers like you who are forced to do more with less.
These cost-cutting proposals will just make it harder for our members to access treatment to get back to work.
