Update on chronic under-resourcing of child protection (PDF version)

On 26 February, PSA Assistant General Secretary Steve Turner wrote to the Minister for Family and Community Services Gabrielle Upton.

You can read that letter HERE.

The growing number of at-risk children still not being seen by a child protection case worker is of great concern.

On 26 February, the Community Services’ delegates met to discuss this matter and prepare to put forward the issues in detail to the Minister.

Members will be kept informed of discussions with Minister Upton.

What can you do?

  • Print the letter to the Minister and place it on your noticeboards.
  • Discuss these issues with your delegates in your workplace.
  • Talk to your colleagues about joining the PSA.

It is important that as many people as possible take an active part in your union to address these concerns.
