Want to work in Gosford? – December 2018 (PDF version)

This PSA is looking to identify any members within any NSW Public Service Department/Agency who may be interested in exchanging their current role for an ongoing role in Gosford.

Background

In April 2016 the Department of Finance, Services & Innovation (DFSI) Executive announced that it was going to relocate 300+ roles to Gosford by the end of 2018. This was part of an election commitment by the Coalition State Government.

Today, we have only a very small handful of remaining members whose roles are being relocated to Gosford in the New Year, however are approaching retirement and do not wish to relocate.

These members are Grade 3/4 Customer Service Representatives employed in the Fair Trading Contact Centre (FTCC).

Voluntary redundancies

The Department has maintained there will be no VRs since the roles are not being deleted just relocated.

The reality for these grade 3/4 members is that they are having difficulty finding other roles within the CBD/Sydney metro, and come early in the new year their employment will be terminated and they’ll be left with nothing.

Gosford relocation opportunity

Is your role currently being declared excess as part of a restructure?

And do you want to remain employed and would potentially be interested in working out of Gosford as a customer service representative (Clerk Grade 3/4) from early next year?

If so, one of the above FTCC Clerk Grade 3/4 members would like to exchange their role with you to enable them to take the VR.

We strongly encourage you to contact us so we can look to facilitate a role exchange between yourself and one of the above FTCC members.

Members should be aware that there are specific rules under the Government Sector Employment Rules which allow for the transfer of employees between government sector departments/agencies.

Also we should note that if we are able to identify compatible role exchange opportunity (i.e. a role that has a similar skill set/same grade), a suitability assessment would need to be conducted.
