We want to hear from you: Births, Deaths, and Marriages proposed restructure

In December 2023, your union was advised of a restructure taking place in Births, Deaths, and Marriages (BDM) without appropriate consultation as per legislation. Despite assertions that this was a “sneak peek” of what the business would be putting out to consultation next year, the PSA is firmly of the opinion that this was an attempted restructure by stealth. The union quickly intervened to halt the process.

The PSA has now been made aware of an announcement on 27 March 2024 concerning the proposed BDM restructure, which has been released for consultation and closes on 19 April.

The restructure applies to all ongoing non-executive roles and includes the creation of dedicated Identity Security teams, consolidation of digital functions under a Director of Digital & Identity Security, and restructuring of operations.
