Your pay rise: An update for PSA members

Members may have seen the media announcement from the NSW Government about your pay increase this year. The Government has put out a wage offer of 4.5 per cent, comprised of a 4 per cent wage increase and a 0.5 per cent increase to superannuation.

Your union, the PSA, has not received a formal offer from the State Government. We have written to the Government requesting details of Monday’s announcement.

Once we have received a formal offer, we will consult with members. We will keep all PSA members updated as further developments come to light.

The PSA and TfNSW through CTU has commenced bargaining on TfNSW Sydney Metro Salaries and Conditions of Employment Award,  the RMS Consolidated Award, RMS (Wages Staff) Award, RMS School Crossing Supervisors Award & the Traffic Signals Staff Award. The Government’s recent pay rise offer to NSW Public Servants will affect and influence what TfNSW’s will offer its staff.

New taskforce

The PSA welcomes the State Government’s announcement of a  NSW industrial relations system taskforce.

We hope the proposed taskforce will achieve the Government’s aims of a truly independent Industrial Relations Commission that will prevent and settle industrial disputes and address employment matters such as work health and safety issues.

It is the PSA’s view that efficiency outcomes should be achieved through our existing consultation frameworks of Departmental Committees and Joint Consultative Committees.

Your union is pleased the State Government plans to scrap the efficiency dividend and encourages the consultative process between the PSA and Departments for fair and equitable outcomes. This will improve job security for all PSA members, rather than you worrying if there will be new job cuts after the budget is delivered.
