Women shaping the future

Women Shaping the Future was the theme of the 2026 PSA CPSU NSW Women’s Conference, held on 8 and 9 September at PSA House in Sydney. Conference brought women members together to explore how our union can build fairer workplaces, strengthen women’s leadership and support the communities we serve.

The programme featured trade union leaders and advocates including Michele O’Neil, Milli Weaver and O’Bray Smith, alongside our own members sharing their experiences of shaping communities and winning improvements at work.

Across the two days, the agenda focused on women’s workplace rights and entitlements, industrial wins, organising and housing. Interactive sessions gave members an opportunity to consider priorities for the coming year and the role we can all play in building a stronger union.

At the heart of this year’s theme was a clear message: women are essential to the future of NSW. Winning fair pay, secure employment, flexible working arrangements and greater opportunities for women to lead will strengthen both our workplaces and the public services our communities depend on.
