A petition to keep the wings open, which has gained over 20,000 signatures, will be read out and debated this Thursday, 15 October at 4:00pm in Parliament House Sydney.
This decision has had a major impact on the staff at Goulburn and the surrounding community. Goulburn staff are hopeful that Thursday’s debate will demonstrate there is a future for the Victorian era wings to remain open and for the gaol to continue to be an important part of both the Goulburn Community and a benefit to Correctives Services NSW.
