Department of Justice Contractors/Consultants supervisory roles
Department of Justice Contractors-Consultants supervisory roles – May 2016 (PDF version)
Members across the Justice portfolio are advised work bans have been imposed in the Information Technology and Asset Management Sections, Organisational Performance and Operations Division of Justice.
At a members’ meeting at the Parramatta Justice Precinct on Wednesday, 18 May 2016 the following motion was passed unanimously:
“That members impose immediate work bans on reporting to and/or being supervised/managed or directed by consultants/contractors”
The PSA has directed members in the Information Technology and Asset Management Sections to adhere to the ban. You can read the letter advising the department about the bans from the PSA General Secretary, Anne Gardiner HERE.
The ban currently only applies to members in the Information Technology and Asset Management Sections and all members in those sections are encouraged to support it
The ban was put into effect by members to express their opposition to the Department acting contrary to the Crown Employees (Public Service Conditions of Employment) Award and the GSE Legislation.
If members in other areas within the Justice portfolio are concerned that contractors/consultants are acting in a supervisory or managerial role or their work is being directed by a consultant/contractor, please notify your workplace delegate or your PSA Organiser as soon as possible.
