EPA – PSA Strike Day of Action: Wednesday 8 June

Due to the Government’s refusal to pay public servants what they are worth, the PSA has directed all members to strike on Wednesday 8 June.

Despite what you may have been told, the EPA employees directed by their union to strike, can, and should, strike barring the following exceptions:

  • Your role means you may be activated to be first response at an emergency;
  • Your role is required if volunteers need you for emergency situations, or
  • Your role is required for the co-ordination of emergencies.

You will be required to work through the strike, due to concerns about public and volunteer safety.

If you fit this description, that doesn’t mean you cannot be involved. Locations where members cannot strike are encouraged to send us your pictures of the team supporting the strike, which we will be sharing on media and social media – please either send through to your Organiser Melissa Ciraolo, or message the PSA on facebook.

The Sydney Rally is being held on Wednesday 8 June, with everyone to meet at the Fountain in Hyde Park North at 10.00am.

There are other numerous events going on throughout the State if you live and work regionally, which can be found in this bulletin here

In a time where your award negotiations are being stalled because of the Government’s wages cap, it is time for EPA members to strike and to show the Government that you are worth more, and that NSW would not run without you.

If you have colleagues who are not members who wish to join in the fight for a better pay and a better public service, they can join online at: www.psa.asn.au/join
