The PSA will challenge in the High Court the constitutional validity of the State government’s industrial laws that cap public sector pay rises. The laws were designed to impede the independence of the NSW Industrial Relations Commission in determining fair pay rates.
A successful challenge to the laws will see the Industrial Relations Commission restored as an independent umpire in NSW, and restore its ability to award fair wages and conditions to all public sector workers.
