Member Benefits, supporting our members - Public Service Association

Member Benefits, supporting our members

As a member of the PSA/CPSU NSW, you have access to many benefits that can make your life much easier.

Over the last 18 months, we have added a number of new member-only services, including Foundation House, who provide support for members with addictions, and Gidget Foundation, who provide support for members experiencing perinatal depression and anxiety.

Having the opportunity to find savings for our members is so important, especially when we are living through a pandemic were our family and friends might have lost their jobs and where the household income of some members has been reduced.

Through our Member Benefits programs and services, members are able to save on groceries, clothing, electronics, gyms and even home loans, personal loans and credit cards.

For the last ten years, the PSA/CPSU NSW has had a partnership with Sydney Mutual Bank. Sydney Mutual Bank have helped thousands of members with home loans, car/personal loans, credit cards, saving accounts and budgeting for the future.

With the merger of Sydney Mutual Bank and Endeavour Mutual Bank comes a change of name. They are now known as Australian Mutual Bank (AMB).

For members who have chosen Sydney Mutual Bank as their financial provider, nothing changes, just the name. Like Unions, AMB also holds elections, for director positions, who represent the ABM members on the board.

This year, your Chief Financial Officer, Michael Cairns, is running for one of the director positions. It is important that our members’ collective voice is heard and represented on the AMB board, so that there is continued benefits for our members.

Notice to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) for 2021 was sent to financial members of Australian Mutual Bank on 13 October 2021, where financial members of AMB have the opportunity to vote for three new directors.

We ask that AMB financial members vote for Michael Cairns so that PSA/CPSU NSW members interests are voiced and actioned. The Directors Board fees will come back to the PSA/CPSU NSW membership and will be used for mental health incentives.

We also ask members to vote for Mark Sawyer and Kerrie Daynes, who were Sydney Mutual Bank directors, as they know the partnership very well and will continue to support members of the PSA/CPSU NSW.

If you cannot attend the AGM you can vote online. Online voting closes 12 noon 17 November 2021. If you have not received your email about the AGM please contact Australian Mutual Bank or phone the contact centre on 13 61 91.

PSA/CPSU NSW will continue to find benefits that support members at work and home. If you have any suggestions for additional member benefits, please email
