Formation of the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal Joint Consultative Committee
Over the past few months, PSA members in NCAT have alerted their union representatives about workplace issues occurring across a number of divisions.
Currently there is no formal consultative arrangement set up with NCAT management to raise overarching workplace issues.
In response, the PSA has entered discussions with Cathy Szczygielski, Principal Registrar and Executive Director of NCAT, requesting the formation of a Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) to meet periodically. This would provide a forum for workplace issues to be raised on behalf of NCAT PSA members.

The PSA participates in many JCCs across the Public Sector and finds it a valuable method of communication and negotiation with employer agencies. The formation of a JCC will assist current PSA Delegates and Contacts across NCAT to address issues within the Divisions and across the agency as a whole.
The PSA is currently reviewing the draft Terms of Reference provided by NCAT and will liaise with NCAT for the scheduling of JCC meetings in 2017. Members will be updated with further developments.
This is a chance for NCAT members to have a voice in how their workplaces are run. Encourage your colleagues to join the PSA, as the more members we have, the stronger our negotiating power will be.
PSA staff will arrange to visit NCAT workplaces in the near future.
