NSW Police Firearms Registry bulletin – February 2019 (PDF version)

The Public Service Association of NSW (PSA) has lodged a Dispute in the Industrial Relations Commission (IRC) in relation to proposed changes in the Firearms Registry. This Dispute was listed on 12 February 2019.

The PSA asserts that NSW Police did not consult with the PSA about the recently advertised roles and have not provided the PSA with any change management documentation in relation to the pending restructure.

NSW Police has an obligation to consult with the PSA about structural change in the workplace pursuant to Clause 66 of the Award, and the 1997 Consultative Arrangements Policy and Guidelines.

See link HERE.

The PSA advises that NSW Police also committed to consultation during the 2018 Firearms Registry Dispute.

As a result of the Dispute, the PSA will be meeting with NSW Police on 15 February 2018, and there will be further conciliation at the IRC on 18 February 2019. The PSA will report to members after the IRC Conciliation on 18 February 2019.

The PSA is committed to ensuring that your rights are protected during the restructure and that NSW Police address any Work Health and Safety issues that are affecting our members in the Registry.
