PSA Schools Recognition Week 2025

Our theme for the 2025 PSA Schools Recognition Week is Delivering Excellence in Schools. And that is exactly what our members do: schools in our state simply could not run without the army of PSA members working in their offices, grounds and classrooms.

PSA Schools Recognition Week gives our school communities the chance to express appreciation for your excellence in the workplace. We have had substantial wins regarding your pay and permanency, the PSA is still working with the Government to ensure all our members are safe at work and taking action regarding the many industrial challenges our members face day to day. We are also pushing for better professional development for you, the essential workers who keep our schools running.

Thank you for all you do, delivering excellence in our schools, throughout the year and for your participation in the 2025 PSA Schools Recognition Week.

PSA Schools Recognition Week 2024

Our theme for the 2024 PSA Schools Recognition Week is We Just Do It, symbolising your dedication for taking steps regardless of the challenge, with unwavering determination and commitment.

This week provides an opportunity for the school community to express appreciation for your outstanding professionalism and resilience in the workplace. The PSA is still working with the Government to ensure all our members are safe at work and taking action regarding the many industrial challenges our members face day to day.

Your principal has received a letter from the PSA, encouraging them to celebrate PSA members during PSA Schools Recognition Week.

We have included a list of suggested activities in our planning materials for you to consider. Please talk to other members and the principal in how to best celebrate. In addition, to support our members, we will be sending a PSA Schools Recognition Week package to the school by post, which includes posters, pens, and other materials.

Schools Recognition Week 2023

Every year PSA Schools Recognition Week acknowledges the contribution our members make to our halls of learning.

This year, PSA Schools Recognition Week comes at a time when so many of our members have been released from employment insecurity
after years in long-term temporary roles.

Gone is the stress that you would not have a role available the following term.

Gone is the stress that banks and financial bodies looked at your employment status with disdain.

The PSA has long been campaigning for a greater number of permanent roles for our members in schools. Now it is working with the Government to make sure all members eligible for permanency get the position they have rightfully earned.

We now have an Education Minister who acknowledges our union has a seat at the table when deciding policy determining how our schools
operate. Finally the State Government recognises the PSA is the ideal vehicle to best represent school support staff.

We have much to celebrate with you in 2023 PSA Schools Recognition Week. We know how hard you work. Let’s let the rest of NSW know, too.
