Proposed Restructure ‘Closing The Gap’ unit of Aboriginal Affairs

On Monday 16 September 2024 the People, Culture and Talent Delivery and Coordination Group of Premier’s Department advised the PSA of a proposed restructure.

What is proposed is a small change plan in the ‘Closing The Gap’ unit of Aboriginal Affairs.

Re the change plan, individual staff will be consulted with on Tuesday  17 September – management has emphasised no job losses, some changes of reporting line.  Consultation has commenced from today and is proposed to run until Monday 23 September 2024.  Once the feedback has been  considered it is planned to implement the new structure on 8 October 2024.

These are the key messages from management are :-

  • Every member of the CTG Program is greatly valued and the work you do continues to be vital to the success of the CTG Priority Reform work.
  • Premiers Department Closing the Gap unit are not losing any staff.
  • The claimed reason for this change is that it will make CTG work more efficient, streamlined and effective.

Whilst it is pleasing that this is a minor restructure the PSA has requested a copy of the change management plan to be presented to members today in order to gauge any unintended negative impacts for members.
