PSA Day of Action 8 June: Permanency, Workload and a Fair Pay Rise

PLEASE PASS ON TO ALL SASS STAFF INCLUDING ALL Admin Staff, SLSOs, GAs, SSOs and School Psychologists.

All members across the PSA, including in schools, will be taking action on 8 June 2022.

Last week, the PSA held its Annual Conference, in which delegates and members overwhelmingly supported the PSA’s campaign for a fair wage increase.  As a result, a motion was passed endorsing a state wide 24-hour stop work on Wednesday 8 June 2022, for all members working across the NSW Public Sector.

The motion passed by delegates states that in the event that the PSA does not receive a wage offer that addresses inflation and the cost of living by COB Monday 6 June 2022, the meeting endorses a campaign of industrial action to commence on 8 June 2022.

Remember, only PSA members can take action on 8 June.

JOIN the PSA today, come to the rally and be part of the campaign for a fair pay rise.

Work overload and permanency crisis in NSW schools

There are unacceptably high rates of insecure employment, particularly among School Learning Support Officers, in schools. Meanwhile the staff who turn up every day are battling a work overload crisis that increases every term.

Members are overworked and schools understaffed, with under-resourcing across the state. Throughout the challenges of recent years, school staff have kept schools running in the face of extreme adversity.

Now is the time to stand strong with your union and fight for a fair pay rise for yourselves and the colleagues you work with every day.
