Minister Cotsis extended an invitation to meet with delegates of the SafeWork NSW Inspectors Vocational Branch and PSA representatives on Thursday, 11 June 2026.
At the outset, the Minister conveyed her strong appreciation for all SafeWork NSW staff. She emphasised she has a special spot for Inspectors, the staff who support them, and the critical work they undertake.
The Minister expressed an interest in understanding the current state of workplace culture. The PSA advised that staff morale is presently low, with employees experiencing a degree of change fatigue arising from ongoing organisational changes. The Minister also sought feedback regarding the impact of the introduction of body-worn cameras on Inspectors and their work.
The PSA raised questions regarding the anticipated release of a draft P Card policy for consultation, as well as seeking clarification on arrangements for back pay. The Minister’s office acknowledged these concerns and advised that further information will be provided in due course.
The Minister concluded by indicating her intention to maintain regular engagement with the PSA and its representatives. This represents a positive and welcome development, particularly in light of the previous Government’s limited engagement with SafeWork NSW staff and related matters.
