All members at the Powerhouse Museum Ultimo are invited to attend the PSA rally on Thursday 1 February 12 noon.
Despite assurances by the NSW Government that transparency and consultation would be restored to discussions around the Powerhouse, senior management of the museum still have not provided up to date information on what will happen once the Ultimo site closes.
It is vitally important that the union be provided with detailed current plans that step out the impact on staff, provide dates and timelines, and give a genuine opportunity for you to have input, especially around the proposed move to Castle Hill which is a major concern for members.
In December 2023 the PSA ventilated these issues at the NSW Industrial Relations Commission. Two key asks were:
- Development of a new Change Management Plan, in consultation with the PSA
- Copies of the updated redevelopment plan, including timelines
To date, despite almost a month having passed, the PSA has not been provided with anything.
No plans, no detail, no updates from the steps determined over two years ago before the Ultimo site was saved.
These steps are drastically out of date and were developed under the previous Government.
