Restructure in Government Technology Platforms

The PSA has been made aware of a restructure in Government Technology Platforms (GTP). Your union has been advised that 28 roles are being converted to shift roles, where employees will work seven hours with a one-hour meal break and a number of roles will become temporary.

We note that:

  • There are 112 Impacted Ongoing GTP team members who will not be directly assigned to an ongoing role, this is due to
    1. Ongoing roles being moved to temporary to reduce financial risk and align with fiscal responsibilities
    2. reduction of roles in future structure
  • Impacted Ongoing employees will be provided with an opportunity to EOI for a role where skills and capabilities match.
  • Impacted Ongoing employees may be assigned to a temporary role in the proposed future state where the individual is
    1. not directly assigned to an ongoing role in the proposed new structure; or
  • does not secure any of the remaining ongoing roles via Stage 2 Expressions of Interest.

The PSA has received confirmation that, if you are assigned to a temporary role this will not affect your ongoing status.  You should, however, be aware that once the temporary role comes to an end if you have not secured an ongoing role elsewhere, you will go into Mobility.

The PSA has requested a further briefing to discuss concerns.

Consultation closes on 6 November 2024. If you would like the PSA to submit feedback on your behalf, or if you have anything you’d like us to know or discuss with management, please contact member support on and quote reference number 228234.
