Transport Management Centre: Industrial action update

Elected PSA Delegates, as well as the Executive, last week took the extraordinary step of endorsing 24-hour industrial action for our entire membership across the state. This action is due to take place on 8 June if the Perrotett Government does not respond to our claim for a fair wage rise by close of business 6 June.

Clearly with such a diverse membership across all NSW government departments the action that takes place will differ across the board. Plenty of areas of our membership will be taking full day strike action while others will be taking part in other actions in solidarity.

Due to some of the safety critical functions performed at the Transport Management Centre (TMC), the PSA is directing members to wear a campaign shirt during all hours on Wednesday. We will look to distribute these next week. Additionally, we will be directing members to stage a walk out of the TOR with a skeleton crew operating at 10:30am.

What are my rights when taking industrial action?

You are not breaking the law when taking industrial action. You are following lawful directions from your union.

If issues are raised with you about your compliance with the direction to strike, provide the person raising the issues with you with a copy of this bulletin and politely explain that you have been directed by your union to comply with these actions.

Remember, only PSA members can take action. If your colleagues have not yet joined, make sure they do as soon as possible! They can join HERE.

If you have any concerns leading into to or following our Day of Action we encourage you to contact the PSA Member Support Centre on 1300 772 679.
