WaterNSW: Implementation of reviewed operating model
As you may be aware, the review of the WaterNSW’s operating model has been completed and the organisation is moving towards its implementation, including recruitment.
The closed recruitment process is welcome.
However, some of the positions in the new structure are being offered on the basis of Individual Employment Agreements (IEAs). These are opposed in principle by the CPSU NSW, for their use by employers has the effect of undermining the pay and conditions provided in superior collective agreements such your current Enterprise Agreement, for all employees.
If offered by the employer, Individual Employment Agreements (IEAs) must not undermine the National Employment Standards (NES) contained in Part 2.2 (pages 118 – 188) of the Fair Work Act.
The National Employment Standards set minimum conditions for:
- Maximum weekly hours
- Requests for flexible working arrangements
- Offers and requests to convert from casual to permanent employment
- Parental leave and related entitlements
- Annual leave
- Personal/carer’s leave, compassionate leave and family and domestic violence leave
- Community service leave
- Long service leave
- Public holidays
- Notice of termination and redundancy pay
- Fair Work Information Statement (the FWIS) and Casual Employment Information Statement (the CEIS).
If you have any questions about these conditions or other aspects of the review implementation, please contact the Member Support Centre on 1800 772 679.
