Chairperson of the Prison Officers’ Vocational Branch of the Public Service Association of NSW, Nicole Jess, said tensions have been rising since Corrective Services NSW transitioned the assistant superintendent rank in jails to functional manager roles, cut staff numbers and made positions casual.
