WIN: Your Pay Rise and more have been made official today

Yesterday, the Roads and Maritime Services Consolidated Salaried Award 2019, Transport for New South Wales and Sydney Metro Salaries and Conditions of Employment Award 2022 and the Roads and Maritime Services School Crossing Supervisors Award 2019  were varied in the Industrial Relations Commission.

We would like to thank all the PSA delegates, especially Dane Richards, Janet Miller and Gary Sladden who helped to fight and win the following:

  • 4.5 per cent pay rise (including superannuation) backdated to 1 July 2023
  • Union presence at all TfNSW inductions going forward
  • A Union Tile on the front page of the Intranet
  • Parental Leave brought in line with the 2022 memorandum
  • Updated Right to Disconnect clause
  • The reinstatement of the Forfeited Flex Working Group

Why did the Award variations take so long?

Unlike the rest of the NSW public service, your Awards are negotiated separately by the Combined Transport Unions (CTU) and TfNSW. The CTU approached negotiations in good faith, however, TfNSW met the early stages of negotiations with reluctance and procrastination. This slowed the process down, and the CTU was not willing to forgo our claims for the sake of expediency given that this appeared to be the initial strategy from TfNSW, to drag out the process. We thank members for their patience, it is not yet known whether your pay increase will be in the next pay packet, but rest assured you will receive it as soon as possible.
