NSW Education Standards Authority: Upcoming meetings and your flexible working hours agreement

NSW Education Standards Authority: Upcoming meetings and your flexible working hours agreement

It was great to meet with members at the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) members in person at the PSA’s Coffee Cart recently. We plan to do this again soon and hope to meet more of you at the upcoming member meeting on 21 April 2026 when PSA industrial staff will be at your Clarence Street office in person.  If you are not in the office on that day, you can join us online on Microsoft Teams.

A new flexible working hours agreement for NESA

The PSA continues to negotiate for a new Flexible Working Hours Agreement for NESA employees we cover. We are eager to ensure the new Agreement reflects NESA’s commitment to the benefits of flexibility for all roles on an If Not, Why Not? basis and promote greater consistency and transparency in entitlements while balancing NESA’s operational requirements with employees’ work–life balance.

We are also proposing clearer overtime clauses given the need for NESA members to be directed/expected to work overtime to meet deadlines and/or peak period demands to more easily record, access, and be remunerated for their overtime hours worked.

The PSA and NESA have had two constructive meetings and have another scheduled for later this week. Your union representatives will update you more fully at the upcoming members meeting.

Implementation of MyWorkZone

The PSA is aware of the broader project to implement the MyWorkZone accounts and payroll system. This work includes the introduction of electronic flex sheets and is intended to improve transparency and strengthen management accountability across finance, payroll, and employee leave records. The PSA will continue to monitor this project to ensure members’ interests are protected.

We want your feedback!

The PSA is eager to hear from members about what matters most to you in a flexible working hours agreement. PSA has established a collective call for members to contact our Member Support Centre. Please quote Case IDC10014874 to contribute.

We look forward to our meeting and hearing from you.
