Department of Education Flexible Working Hours Agreement bulletin – 16 September 2015 (PDF version)

Further to our previous update on this matter, a meeting between the PSA and the Department was held on 8 September 2015. Meetings with officers of the Department of Education will continue to be held on a weekly/fortnightly basis through October.

Important developments so far include:

The PSA has written to the Department requesting that they seek approval from the Public Service Commission to maintain the banking provisions staff currently enjoy.

The Department has agreed to amend the draft proposal to maintain the current bandwidth of hours for staff.

The Department has agreed (if required) to transitional arrangements for staff that currently have banked hours. Discussions between the PSA and Department are continuing about the length of time staff will have to use their bank hours.

Members are encouraged to continue to raise issues of concern with your delegates.
