Each month the PSA CPSU NSW will focus on a benefit available to all members. This month we will cover Foundation House, which is available not just to members, but to their immediate families, too.
Foundation House
Foundation House is an alcohol, drug and gambling treatment centre. It holds 28-day residential rehabilitation services and provides ongoing support through its outpatient counselling and relapse prevention.
Foundation House opens its doors to anyone who needs rehabilitation services and meets their admission criteria. It is often seen as the first step for clients seeking help with drug use, alcohol and gambling.
Foundation House offers an empathic and kind approach to people entering their residential program. The centre’s qualified and experienced staff create a tailored program during the assessment stage that will address the clients’ needs best and give them the care they need.
Foundation House is located in a tranquil waterfront setting within the grounds of Callan Park in Sydney’s inner west and is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days per week. It was first established as a trade union initiative supported by the construction industry 20 years ago.
