Powerhouse Museum – PSA fights for fair pay for Casual VSOs
Powerhouse Museum bulletin – Fair pay for Casual VSOs – Nov 2016 (PDF version)
Earlier this year, PSA members at the Powerhouse Museum informed us that, despite recommendations made during the 2014 restructure, Casual Visual Services Officers (VSOs) are not being paid at the appropriate Clerk 1/2 level, but at a lower general scale rate.
In response, your union launched a case in the NSW Industrial Relations Commission (IRC) to win equitable pay for Casual VSOs. At the IRC, the Powerhouse refused to take a reasonable approach, and has argued to maintain the current inequitable pay model. The case is continuing and we are fighting for you.
Have your say!
As a member-driven union, we are seeking your thoughts, information and ideas to inform our direction as the case proceeds.
As such, we will be holding meetings for VSOs and other concerned members to report back on the IRC proceedings and gather your feedback. These meetings are for you, but if a colleague is interested in joining the PSA, please encourage them to come along and observe – membership forms will be available at each meeting.
The meetings will be held in the Charles Kerry room on:
5 December at 4:00 pm
9 December at 4:00 pm
If you would like to attend, inform your manager and shifts will be arranged.
Additionally, the regular PSA Powerhouse members’ meeting will be held in the Ellis Rowan Room on Tuesday 22 November from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm.
If you have any information or documentation that might assist us in our case, please send it to . All information will be treated confidentially and appropriately.
We know that this has been a trying time for members but now is the time for involvement and action.
Thank you for making the effort to attend and make a difference for PSA members at the Powerhouse.
