PSA request Public Service Commission halts restructure
The PSA has requested the PSC halt the current restructure until appropriate time frames and proper information are provided to the PSA membership.
Previously, the PSC provided a change management plan to the PSA which had limited information, and time frames that were too short to allow for proper consultation.
In regard to this, the PSA lodged a dispute in the Industrial Relations Commission. Following a meeting with PSC management on Tuesday 4 August 2020, the PSA withdrew that dispute as we received commitments to further information and an extended time frame.
On 12 August 2020, the PSA formally wrote to the PSC requesting the restructure be put on hold. This should be the case until we have received all the relevant information required to enable us to properly respond to this restructure.
We also provided the current concerns we have received from our members. That letter is attached HERE
Whilst some information has subsequently been provided (which we are currently assessing), we remain concerned about the time frame.
It is also crucial to the PSA that this Change Management Process openly addresses the reason for change, and the workload impacts on those left behind.
Further discussions are anticipated. We will keep PSA members advised.
The option remains for the PSA to lodge with the Industrial Relations Commission once more. We will certainly proceed in that manner if necessary.
