Nominations open for Delegates’ Committee

The PSA is establishing the first ever Service NSW Public Service Association of NSW (PSA) Delegates’ Committee. The Committee will consist of delegates who will represent members employed by Service NSW across the State.

If you want to be involved in your union and be part of improving your rights at work by building strength on the ground, we encourage you to nominate.

PSA training

The PSA holds union training, which is open to all PSA members. Members in Service NSW can access paid Trade Union Training Leave, up to 12 working days in a period of two years, to attend courses endorsed by the Association.

Clause 27.4 (h) Training Courses of the Service NSW (Salaries and Conditions) Employees Award 2016 states:

Employees who are members of the Association will be granted special leave with pay for up to twelve (12) working days in any period of two (2) years to attend training courses endorsed by the Association, Unions NSW or the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU), subject to:

  1. The operating requirements of the workplace permitting the grant of leave and the absence not requiring employment of relief staff,
  2. All travelling expenses being met by the Employee or the Association;
  3. Attendance being confirmed in writing by the Association or a nominated training provider.

PSA Notice Boards at Service NSW

Members are entitled to display authorised union material on a noticeboard in the workplace.

Clause 24.11 of your Award states:

Service NSW shall provide a notice board for the display of authorised material in each workplace in a readily accessible and visible location.

What can I do?

  • Consider nominating to join the Service NSW Delegates’ Committee
  • Give a copy of this bulletin to your colleagues
  • Display this bulletin on your notice board
  • Ask a colleague to join the PSA.
