Sheriff’s officers PSA/SOVBAG wins more staff

PSA SOVBAG wins more staff – April 2016 (PDF version)

As a consequence of the PSA pushing for more staff, management have now advertised 36 new Sheriff roles. 31 of them are ongoing (permanent).  These are additional to the temporary roles filled last year.

The lack of staff has been at the heart of many of the issues faced by members.

Issues such as inflexible working arrangements and WHS issues have been made worse due to the lack of Sheriff’s officers.

New staff will make a difference.

However, the number of Sheriffs is still insufficient.

The PSA will continue to fight for more staff; including making the 40 roles filled last year ongoing (permanent).

SOVBAG elections

The coming edition of Red Tape will include a call for nominations to be on the Executive of SOVBAG.

Red Tape will be available by the end of the month. We will also email members nominations.

We encourage all interested members to nominate and play a part in fighting for a better deal for Sheriffs.
