The PSA was extremely disappointed to learn the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) provided staff on 10 September with a draft Flexible Working Policy for consultation without any engagement with the PSA.
Members immediately contacted the PSA raising not only concerns with the draft document, but also the form to submit their feedback.
We understand that the feedback form:
- Limits responses to 4000 characters including blanks (roughly a one-page submission, with no provision to upload another document).
- Anonymous submissions can’t be made (submissions must include an individual or a team identification such as name and or email address.
Members who are already anxious on the announcement made by the Premier on return back to the office feel apprehensive in logging feedback for fear of reprisal in being genuine in their views on the draft Flexible Working Policy.
Further concerns as raised by members in returning to the workplace is where they will be located as the PSA is aware many agencies no longer have the physical capacity for staff to be accommodated.
The PSA will be writing to DCCEW seeking that the draft policy is halted until such time that there is genuine consultation with the PSA given the complexity and impact to staff.
If you have concerns with this draft Flexible Working Policy please provide your feedback to the PSA member support and quote call number 226340.
