The Department of Customer Service has advised the PSA of a restructure in Spatial Services.  Consultation opened on 19 March 2025 and closes on 8 April 2025.

At the moment, we are aware of the following proposed changes:

• Losing 10 ongoing Grade 12 roles
• Losing 12 ongoing Grade 11 roles
• Gaining 16 ongoing 11/12 roles and 1 temp
• Gaining seven ongoing Grade 9/10 roles
• Losing two ongoing 5/6 roles
• Gaining four temp 5/6 roles
• Losing 25 ongoing 3/4 roles
• Gaining one temp 3/4 role
• Losing eight ongoing 1/2 roles
• Keeping three temp 1/2 roles
• Losing 13 ongoing GSO 1 roles
• Gaining five temp GSO 1 roles

Other changes include reporting lines, Role Descriptions, role titles, ways of working and remuneration (as a result of change to grade of role being offered).

When compared to the current structure, these changes mean fewer roles across most grades. For all staff not directly appointed at stage 1 of the process, Spatial Services proposes Expressions of Interest for available roles at grade.

Your union has organised a further briefing with management to be followed by a member meeting at 12 noon on Monday 24 March 2025 to hear your concerns and provide you with updates from our discussions with management.
