Thanks to you all

Thanks to you all – December 2018 (PDF version)

Thanks to the herculean efforts of our members, delegates and staff, 2018 has been a tremendous year for the PSA and CPSU NSW.

As the accompanying video found HERE shows, your union has been on the front foot, fighting for workers’ rights, better wages and conditions, and a well-funded, government-run, public sector.

We’ve had wins with major issues such as Family and Domestic Violence Leave, pay increases above the rate of inflation, preserving employment conditions in the face of opposition from bosses and starting to reverse job cuts in areas such as National Parks.

We are continuing our fight for pay equity in our schools and opposing cuts to public services such as prisons.

After years of going backwards, your voice is getting stronger, with PSA and CPSU NSW membership once again on the rise as workers realise they are stronger together.

And we are getting the word out. We are on the streets, lobbying politicians and getting our voices heard in the media, alerting the general public to the damage the Government has wrought. People are waking up to war the Government has waged on public assets such as our once-great TAFE system, one of the oldest National Park systems in the world, the superb Powerhouse Museum, our beleaguered river systems, and our vital disability support services. And this is all while splurging billions on stadiums in Sydney.

We are all in for a busy 2019. Next year the people of NSW will be at the polls twice to elect state and federal governments, and we will be busy making sure the issues that are important to our members are in voter’s minds as they walk into their election booths.

As we wrap up for the Christmas and New Year break, the PSA and CPSU NSW want you to know we are nothing without our members and delegates. So thanks for all your help, support and suggestions this year. With your help, we can make 2019 a great year for you all.

General Secretary
