Women’s Unit

Aims:

The aim of the Women’s Unit is to  progress  the interests of the Association’s women members and to consider any question which affects women members.

The Women’s Unit undertakes research on gender and equity issues for example work force profile and most recently the Premiers commitments , develops policy on women’s industrial matters in conjunction with Women’s Council Committee; and promotes women’s issues in the workplace as well as the broader community through submissions and working collaboratively with other unions and organisations.

The unit also advises other industrial staff on issues such as discrimination and harassment and represents the interests of women members of the PSA within the broader movement.  The Unit collaborates with delegates and identifies trends relating to women’s issues.

Objectives:

Raise the profile of women related issues within the PSA’s membership , from the 60% female PSA membership in metro and regional NSW
