Workplace Presence and upcoming member meetings
On Tuesday 15 April 2025 PSA Industrial Staff and Delegates held an initial meeting with Transport for NSW (TfNSW) to discuss feedback PSA members had submitted in response to the proposed changes to Transport’s Flexible Work Arrangements Procedure and the draft Way We Work Guide.
TfNSW reiterated that they were still working through the feedback and providing responses to individuals where they had requested a response, and that no final decision had yet been made.
The meeting discussed key themes around the proposed changes, with discussion around:
- Changes needed to the Standard Hybrid Arrangement, including reviewing the need for approval and reviewing the need for 5 of the 10 “workplace” days to be in the assigned Hub
- The current lack of suitable facilities or bookable desks at TfNSW sites and the associated safety concerns this raises.
- The uncertainty and double handling that will be created if TfNSW progress Organisational Redesign at the same time as the proposed changes to Workplace Presence.
- Workplace Adjustments for individuals with a disability. TfNSW confirmed that the Workplace Adjustment policy should be followed for those seeking a Workplace Adjustment in these circumstances, not the hybrid agreement process.
- The affect that the changes will have for regional employees, including the negative affect to their career progression, and poorer outcomes for the community they live in.
PSA Member meetings to discuss action
The PSA will now be holding further online member meetings to discuss the process so far, as well as what action PSA members may wish to take in response to the proposed changes. Details are provided below, please choose the meeting that works best for you.
