Proposed organisational change for the Premier’s Department Digital and Information Branch
On 15 May members, delegates and industrial staff attended an information session concerning a proposed organisational change for the Premier’s Department Digital and Information Branch.
All staff should have received copies of the D&I Information Session presentation on the proposed organisational change and D&I Change Management FAQs.
The Chief Digital and Information officer advised members and PSA officers of the proposal which will result in impacts to a number of staff roles they being:
- 2 roles in Records Management and Business Operations
- 11 roles in Digital Workplaces
- 1 Project Manager in the Program Management office.
Overall there are to be three roles deleted. Of concern to the PSA is that in the new structure there are to be 11 contractors. It is the PSA’s position that all ongoing roles should be occupied by permanent staff.
The NSW government’s current policy is to reduce the number of contractors within government departments and agencies. The desirable outcome is for contractors or casuals to be engaged for very short-term projects. The PSA’s position is that there should be zero contractors.
The consultation period is for two weeks until 29 May 2025. Member feedback for the Premier’s Department should be forwarded to
