Federal Paid Parental Leave Scheme Review - Public Service Association

Federal Paid Parental Leave Scheme Review

The Federal Government has announced a review of the Federal Paid Parental Leave Scheme. The Federal Paid Parental Leave Scheme is 18 weeks’ pay at the national minimum rate for the primary carer, and two weeks “dad and partner” pay. Our members are entitled to both the Federal Paid Parental Leave Scheme and the entitlement in the Crown Employees (Public Service Conditions of Employment) Award of 14 weeks full pay – this amount varies for our university members.

The review is seeking public submissions, and the PSA will be preparing a submission to the review. To assist with this, we would like to hear from members who have experienced both inadequacies and positive experiences with the Federal Paid Parental Leave Scheme.  Please email the Women’s Unit at by no later than 30 April 2013.
