Members bulletin – Digital Information Office (DIO)

The PSA met last Monday with members of the Senior Management Team to continue discussions regarding the PSA’s concerns about changes to your Role Descriptions.

The PSA had a large amount of feedback from members expressing their concern about the changes; the most concerning being the introduction of a 24/7 on-call system. Many members expressed the view that they would not have applied for these roles had such a system been a requirement of the role.

The PSA are again meeting with DIO management on Monday 27 March. In an encouraging development, DIO have provided the PSA with a response to members concerns with working principles for on-call in DIO.

“While we acknowledge that your members are concerned about what an on-call arrangement may entail, we are convinced that the approach we are taking in seeking our employees’ input to co-design the on-call framework will result in a superior arrangement, than one developed without employee consultation.  Additionally, we aim to create a framework which encourages sharing the load over more employees to minimise the disruption to work/life balance as much as possible and reduce the burden on the few employees who currently undertake the on-call responsibilities”.

The PSA requests that should you have any further comments or feedback regarding changes to your roles, please contact the MSC urgently at or 1800 772 679 quoting C/N 199974 or C/N 199894. All conversations or feedback are treated in the strictest confidence.
