RMS Enforcement Operations Inspectors update on National Medal Award request
RMS Enforcement Operations Inspectors – update on National Medal Award request (PDF version)
In late November 2014, PSA General Secretary, Anne Gardiner wrote to then Transport Minister, Gladys Berejiklian requesting that the important public safety service provided by RMS Enforcement Operations Inspectors be recognised by making them eligible for the National Medal.
RMS Inspectors continually ensure the highways and bi-ways of NSW are safe from un-roadworthy, overloaded, insecure vehicles and unlicensed or fatigued drivers.
This is work conducted 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. On many occasions Inspectors can find themselves in unwelcome and risky circumstances.
As a response had not been received by April 2015 the PSA contacted the Minister’s office. The delay was partly due to the recent state elections and we were advised to resend our original letter to the new Minister, Andrew Constance.
The PSA has done this and the Minister’s office has given an assurance that they would respond soon.
The PSA will advise members of the Minister’s response as soon as it is received.
You can see a fact sheet which explains the National medal HERE.
You can also see the letter sent by the PSA to the Minister for Transport and now forwarded on to Andrew Constance on behalf of RMS EOI members HERE.
Please feel free to contact one of your Advisory Group delegates to discuss or provide further information.
