Joint Consultative Committee
The NSW Police Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) is a committee made of Police management, PSA Departmental Committee (DC) delegates and a PSA Industrial Advocate.
The committee meets on a bi-monthly basis and discusses issues put forward by each of the groups who make up the committee.
The PSA works for you in this forum by raising member concerns and consulting on changes affecting members.
The most recent JCC was on 13 August where the discussions included:
- Redeployment of Hurt On Duty Police Officers to SOCO positions in Forensic Services Group. NSW Police Force agreed that the Police Officer Redeployment to Administrative Officer Positions Policy would be followed.
- That Police is undertaking reviews of Operational Information Agency and Shared Services. Consultation with PSA members will begin when the initial reviews are finalised.
Delegates
Nine PSA delegates from NSW Police Force recently took part in PSA training on supporting members with individual issues. Your local DC or workplace delegate should be your first port of call if you need advice or support.
The value of delegates in your workplace
The value of having a delegate in the workplace and working with PSA staff to solve issues is invaluable due to delegates practical knowledge of what actually happens at the coal face.
An important issue for members in an area led to a good result because a PSA delegate was able to identify a serious training need for a group of members and negotiate a development opportunity for them. This will enable these members to perform their duties with greater confidence and heighten their ability to serve the community of NSW. This is a direct result of the delegate knowing the job and understanding the local work situation.
Delegates are often the main contact point for PSA members, PSA Industrial staff and Police management during negotiations around changes in the workplace. Their efforts enable the PSA to achieve the best possible outcome for members.
Please support your local delegate. If you don’t have one, please consider becoming a delegate or contact. PSA provides training and support for delegates. You can contact PSA Organiser, Heather Smith or your DC delegate for more information.
Update your Details
Please ensure your membership details are correct if you have moved home or changed locations recently. This way the PSA can ensure you are kept up to date and that you are able to vote correctly in delegate elections.
